So thinking about changing our Juke soon.
Budget £8k, Must be automatic, old fashioned or modern electronic OK,
Must have a slightly higher driving seat, Juke, Smart fortwo, Scenics all were OK, Range Rover too high for my DW to get into easily.
Must be safe to tow a 1,300kg load, with decent fuel economy.
Probably not 4WD, but need 4 doors.

Diesel Freelander? CR-V? RAV-4? Renault Koleos? Qashqui? Vauxhall Zafira?
Why are you selling the Juke? I know they are a bit challenged as far as looks goes but doesn't it fulfill most of your requirements already? Or is it manual and auto is a deal breaker?
Of the ones I listed above they are not all easy to find in Auto. Zafira and Freelander are probably the most common in Auto form.
Define decent fuel economy? Some people would be happy with 30mpg or so as they do lowish miles. Other people do higher miles and need 40mpg as a minimum
A couple of left field choices would be a Berlingo/Partner (caveat is the Auto is not as smooth as some and they come with a 1.6 HDi engine that requires diligent maintenance as far as oil and filter changes go to ensure long life.
Or the Renault Kangoo, the problem being the Auto Kangoo is petrol, though they are likely to be well under your budget.
Sorry but I don't know what the towing weights are on the these ones.
I am sure there will be an online resource from the caravan club or similar that can help.0 -
The Juke does not have the towing capability for a trailer weighing 1300kg. Neither do many of your suggestions. It is petrol automatic with the old slush type box and we get 34mpg, less when towing.
I would like something like our old Auris with decent mpg, we got 55mpg, diesel auto, but need a slightly higher seat to help my DW get in and out, she has a big back problem and two opps. left her very stiff.0 -

Which of my suggestions don't tow 1300kgs?0 -
We looked at a Quashqui and the auto was 1200kgs. Zafira auto is 1100kgs. Koleos looks worth a try but I can't find any under 100k miles at my price. Freelander is too high.0

Zafira 150cdti is 1500kgs.
Which model did you look? The 1.6 and 1.8 petrol models have a smaller towing ability as does the 120cdti. Though having driven thousands of miles in the 120cdti Auto Zafira I would personally chose the 150cdti0
