New laptop - swapping HDD with SSD

Hi all, I've just bought a new HP laptop which has a 500gb HDD and I want to swap it for a Samsung Evo SSD which I already own.
I thought about erasing the data on the SSD to start afresh as the new laptop comes with a Windows 10 pro disk. But my Samsung Magician is asking me to create a bootable USB. I have no USB sticks large enough.
If I install the SSD in the new laptop without erasing the data can I still use the disk to install the windows 10 pro edition? Or does the SSD need to be blank?
I hope that makes sense, thanks

please read https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5433969 in my postings I clearly explain how to reload win 10 onto a new drive
in your case go to custom install and delete all partitions on the SSD and create new one , windows will do the restSave a Rachael

Just so I've got this right, I can put in the ssd in the new laptop and perform a custom install which will write over what's already on the ssd?
Am I right? Thanks in advance0 -
yes , download the iso from the link , let it create a pendrive for you , insert new drive , boot from pendrive , uefi if possible , do custom install , delete all partitions , and then create new , if the machine is uefi bios , it will create about 4 partition's then start to load , skip ser no etc etc , and sit back , when windows goes to updates it will auto registerSave a Rachael

the new laptop comes with a win 10 pro disk - so I should use that instead, yes? instead of the iso link you mentioned.
The ssd already has win10 on it but I want the 64bit pro version0 -
no , d/load the latest version (64r bit) , as there was a major upgrade last nov (?) that basically reloaded the new win 10 onSave a Rachael

unfortunately i don't have or want to buy a large enough usb stick to download it via the link. If I use the win 10 disc won't it automatically upgrade once its finished installing? Thanks0
