Sky Q £99 set up fee refund for loyal customers

I ordered Sky Q early and had to pay £99 set up fee. Last week Sky started offering customers who had been at Sky over 10 years, zero set up fee. This caused an outrage because customers like myself had paid £99. Sky have now decided to give back the £99 to qualifying customers (over 10 years) in the form of a discount of your next bills.

I phoned this morning and had no problem, so anyone who ordered early and paid the set up fee, make that call !

  • Have you got the new service yet? I haven't had a proper look but it does sound good. Currently I have full package with Sports and Movies and two Sky Plus boxes with multi room. Would I end up paying much more if I switched?

Yes, I have had it since the start, 29th February. I think it is great and my tv picture quality has improved. I had a similar package to you and it costs me £1.50 pm more ! This because you save the multiroom fee, but do check first. The setup charge has been waived for now so that saves £99 but again check. Yuo would need a Sky q box, Silver is best and a mini to replace the second Sky + box.

How do you get the £99 discount? Doing the order online shows that it will still cost me £149 to upgrade. Do you have to call them and ask for it?

There should be no difference between Sky+HD and Sky Q picture quality unless your old decoder was failing or the dish wasn't properly aligned. Sure you don't just imagine it's somehow "better" ? ;)

This situation will only change when Sky offers a 4K channel to Sky Q customers

Wow. About time Sky looked after long term customers....

So its FREE to have just a bit more a month?

Is this for the Silver package? Do you get one free mini box with that? If so, I guess its still £99 extra if you want two?

I suggest you read the Sky Forum and the many comments regarding picture quality. I can assure you it's not my imagination, the quality on all three of my tv's is better, but it's up to you if you believe me>

Why does the picture quality improve? It is streaming the same programs and formats that you watched on a normal Sky box
