nowtv boxes; external batteries - need a charity to donate these to.

Or do I just take to local tip?

I've no idea what sort of batteries you mean, but ERP collect batteries for recycling. Have a look here to find a local collection point : http://www.erp-batteries.co.uk/

And a lot of B&Q stores seem to also have bins where you can put batteries to be recycled.

My local Sainsbury's has a battery collecting bin (although it was overflowing last week) and many council recycling centres have a facility for small electrical items, I'm not quite sure what's recyleable in a NowTV box though.

Correct - will a charity take these boxes? Seems a shame to take them to the dump.

you might be better putting them on freecycle (etc) as a lot of charity shops have a blanket electrical ruling that simply places the boxes in the bin , after thanking you for your donation

Both the British Heart Foundation and a couple of local charity shops round here will take electrical items, so it may be worth checking. Make sure you log out of the account on the box, though there is a reset button on the back too.

I have sold a few to CEX when it was cheaper to buy a new box with a voucher than it was to pay monthly. They were down to 20p each, but I have just checked and it is up to £2 each if you have everything.
