Problem with driver!!!

Help needed please,
Just tried to load an old PC game on to my laptop, got close to the end of loading it on and it would not finish, can't remember what it said now!!
Anyway so I tried again same thing so gave up.
My problem now is every time I log on to my laptop I get a message that says:
DRIVER BLOCKED DUE TO INCOMPATIBILITY
STABILITY PROBLEMS SO DRIVER WILL BE DISABLED
DRIVER: TAGS PROTECTION
PUBLISHER: TAGS SA.

It advises me to click and look for solutions but comes back with nothing.
Can I locate this driver and just delete it, if so how do I find it and get rid of it.
As a foot note, I am running windows 7 and the 'old' game is Simon the sorcerer.
It does state on the box can be used on 7!!
I am assuming this driver is related to this game as It only came to light after my aborted loading?
PS. simple responses please.
Thanks.

Rather than hunt around why not just do a system restore to the first checkpoint prior to the install - may cost you some windows updates or possibly an install or two depending on how far back it goes but you won't lose any user data.

If you really want to run an old game using a virtual machine is probably the easiest option.

If you don't know what a system restore is use google - it is not the same as a factory restore which will wipe all your stuff.

Have you uninstalled the game? From many hits it seems that the driver is for copy protection and would have been installed by the game installer.

One suggestion I found was to use the driver installer to uninstall it and that included this link...

Failing that have you got another checkpoint before the one you tried?

    DRM :(

Ironically the most reliable way to avoid DRM (and the potential damage it can do) is to download illegal copies of games and software, with the DRM removed.

  • how about searching for the driver in the internet. maybe there are other version of the driver present in the internet. Maybe on the game manufacturer site.
  • Try doing system restore in safemode.

Sorry to be a pain folks but,
I have tried to do a system restore in safe mode and yes it works but it will only give me the option to go back one day as a start point, yesterday when I attempted to do a restore 'not in safe mode' it would go back to the 20th of march when the problem started.
Can you manually put a start point in if so how??
    Thanks.
