Water Softener similar to Harvey/Kinectico?

Ours is now 4 or 5 years old. We paid £400 for the softener which included the combi hose connections. We got it from our local plumbers merchants, we live near to where the Monarchs are made so all our local plumbing places sell them and the plumber said he wouldn't get it any cheaper than we could either. I don't think you can buy direct from them anyway. We paid a plumber £150 to fit it.
This place sells them, but I can see they've increased in price since we got ours. Still a good price compared to the Harvey and Kinetico ones.

Thanks guys for your help, this water softener world is completely new to me so i thought there might be alternatives. I've come across this website they're selling Harveys non-electic water softener much less than Harveys and according to them it's the same machine plus they'er offering 4 years warranty on top of standard.Whole system costing me £1000 which is of course cheaper than Harvey's quoted £1700. Hope this work out well.
