Are there any basic bank accounts that separate your money so that all your direct debits and standing order are paid, leaving the excess money in a separate account which you have access too. ThinkMoney are charging over £24 per month for our joint account and thats a lot of money.

Why not do it yourself and learn to budget better with a saving on fee's you can use that money to pay off bills or have a small savings pot built up over a year or so?0

Indeed, £24 is far too big amount to pay rocket scientists from thinkmoney for doing this primary school maths for you.
Just open two current/basic accounts with the same or different banks and 'separate' your money yourself for free. Transfer a little in excess for DDs in case you make a small error or some DD amount varies.0 -
And if your "bills" account was a NatWest Reward one, you'd be getting 3% rebate too. So you're also losing out on that in addition to the £24 a month.0

Given many Basic Accounts don't charge for failed d/ds I see no reason why anyone would choose to throw money away on this company.
If you want the money in the 'other' account presumably Think Money don't and can't stop you anyway?0
