Why must we mock? Can we no just answer a straightforward question without insult, demeaning comments etc. As I say to children that swear, do you really think that makes you look like a clever grown up?
To answer the OP my point is why do the manuals that are supplied, start in the middle assuming you are able to get the phone out of the box is one think, but expecting us to 'know' how to even turn it on, when all makes and models are different.
And before responding to call me an idiot, remember once upon a time even you could not read!0 -
Why is it considered clever to mock and try and belittle a person for asking a simple question with good reason.
Just like children thinking that swearing, smoking etc. think it makes them look grown up, you really do just look stupid to most grown ups.
To answer the OP I know exactly where you are coming from, you are making a justified point, I for instance find that ongoing queries are often met by people answering 'from the middle' so to speak, always 'assuming' us of a lesser intelligence must at least know how to get it out of the box and turn it on But no, sometimes even the box and switching on elude me!! (and I am in Mensa)!!!!0 -
Oops case in point, I lost my first post, wrote another and suddenly both appear, see what I mean, I don't even know how this forum works - but then we can't all be good at everything can we, oh wait, some posters think they can!0

Well I do use an iPhone, old 4s, I just wanted another cheap phone with good battery life to take on trips and I don't have any problems using it.
I remember when I got my first imac, the old blue one and there were no instructions so the first thing to do was to find the hidden on/off switch, not as easy as it sounds! Then you could look at the instructions on screen.0 -

There is no such thing as a stupid question.
However, there is such a thing as a stupid answer...“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

To be fair Apple have quite sensible, idiot proof ways of answering a phone call. Press the green icon to answer and red to decline.
It's pretty standard across all phones except for Android OEMs, who all want to do their own thing.
My Iphone infuriates me when i try to unlock the screen. Is there a way to answer using the red and green buttons if the screen is locked ? By the time i've unlocked the screen by swiping, my caller has given up and rung off !0
