Hi.
I opened an account with them got accepted,
I paid the £69 fee but for 1 week or so the account wasnt opened. I rang them and they hadnt received the fee. After i sent them proof they finally admitted that they might have assigned it into someone elses account(seriously how can a bank do that).
After 3 weeks of running back and forward they still couldnt find my payment so i claimed a refund on the card that i paid £69 from because they had lost my fee money. 1 month down the line they suddenly block my account and say that i need to withdraw the dispute claim and need to get halifax to confirm it to them over the phone(So they miraculously found my money).
I withdrew the dispute claim and told them to charge me £69 again. They said we cant do anything unless halifax phones us. Halifax have said clearly they have done everything by the book and they dont need to phone but cashplus needs to challenge the dispute and they will win because halifax have withdrawn the dispute so problem solved. The staff at cashplus dont or dont want to understand this and are insisting on halifax phoning them. Now im running a business and all my funds nearly £3000 are locked in cashplus which i have no idea if i will ever get back or not. I even told them when they miraculously found my money via the dispute that take it out of my account but they just arent budging. I have rung halifax snd they said from their side the case is now closed they cant help me any more. What am i meant to do???

Halifax have redebited my account with £69 so presumably have sent the money back to mycashplus

  • Why on earth did you open the account in the first place if you had a Halifax account?

Check their complaints procedure and if needs be go to the ombudsman.

If the dispute that Halifax have raised is a chargeback, then it cannot be withdrawn by them.

If the chargeback was raised more than 45 days ago and mycashplus didn't challenge the chargeback in that time, then Halifax has your £69, so I would suggest that you ask them to return it so you can pay mycashplus again in order to access your funds again.

If the chargeback was successful (as I think it was)then the OP would have had his £69 returned.
Up to him now to pay this company for him to get access to his funds.

    Latest update-

Halifax redevlbited my account on 17th march, cashplus are insisting on halifax phoning them and confirming to them that the chargeback claim has been dropped.
Halifax are saying banks done phone each other and that cashplus need to respond to the chargeback claim and they will get their money back and also will see that the claim has been stopped.

I have nearly £3000 in my cashplus account and cashplus have even refused to close my account and return my money until halifax tell them that the claim has been withdrawn.
Im at my wits end phoning back and forth.
Does anyone know which of halifax or cashplus is actually right and what i can do? Looks like my mobey is gone unless halifax phobe cashplus but they are refusing to do that. Or are cashplus playing underhand tactics?
Wouldnt have even gone this far if cashplus hadnt assigbed my mobey into someone elses account.

Cashplus should be releasing you £2931 when requested. They cannot hold undisputed amounts from you.
