LED light bulbs

I've just put led, candle, dimmable bulbs in my light fitting, and find they make a slight noise. Its sort of a high pitched whine, not that loud, but noticeable. Is this normal?

No, is it the bulbs making the noise or the switch which I presume is a dimmer switch?

Its the bulbs, the light fitting has 3 arms, and I replaced all the bulbs at once.

Its the bulbs, the light fitting has 3 arms, and I replaced all the bulbs at once. They are B22 candle bulbs with a bayonet fitting, and are a bit bigger (taller) than the previous halogen ones.
  • Ours made a noise
We'd put them in a light unit that turned out they were no good for (one of those touch lights with 3 settings).

Wasn't long before it started smoking.

Thankfully we were able to just say they started smoking & not that we used incorrect bulbs & we got an exchange.

So i put some 'normal' bulbs in there. Could've bought dimmer ones i suppose & tried that but didn't want to take the chance.
  • Normal or dimmer switch? If the former, faulty or poor quality bulbs, if the latter, then incompatible dimmer probably.

Yes it's a dimmer switch, and the bulbs are marked as dimmable.
