Public Liability Insurance

I own a small team building company and do not employ any full time staff (PAYE) However, when I deliver team building events, I work with self employed staff who are paid a daily rate. I have always had a public liability insurance but when trying to renew this year I was advised that they would not able to renew as I need to have vicarious cover for these staff. In addition as I outsource some of my events to other companies, they told me that their liability cover will not come into play if there is a claim but mine. I have never heard of this before and would really appreciate some advise on whether or not this is true and if so, any suggestions for insurance companies that offer this as part of PLI? Thank you.

If you're invoicing your customer and this includes the charges for your labour only subcontractors and your bona fide subcontractors. Your customer will look to you for compensation should their be an incident where you're liable.
You may possibly also need Employers Liability for the labour only subcontractors.
If your industry or a similar industry have a trade organisation, they will normally have an Insurer or broker who they recommend who will be familiar with your industry0
