When this has happened to me on other websites I always double check to see if there is an email or a record of the order on my account page.

Did you do either of those things?

It could very well be an issue with your banks processing not just Argos.

Why cancel your family's plan's for the easter weekend ?

I know hindsight is great but his is where a credit card would have come in handy or a savings account.

Can only second this, if this had lead to such hardship it may be time to start saving money to build up a buffer in case things like this happen in the past.

From your post you state you now have no money for bills, have to cancel plans etc, so is it really wise to be spending over £250 on furniture?

If this had not happened, you would have bought the furniture, paid your bills, put fuel in your car and spent time with the family, yet had no money for any emergencies that might happen, such as your car breaking down.

I used to be the same, would always live month to month and have no money in weeks 3 and 4, but luckily my wife is completely the opposite and we now have a savings account. I don't miss the junk I used to buy and if there were any emergencies we would be ok.

I do not mean to lecture, and feel free to ignore this, but I've been in the same position and the other side is a much nice place to be.
