Well I did what you said but it isn't quite working.
I got a Flickr account. Uploaded some photos. Copied the URL of the photo I want to share. Press the little yellow square button and insert URL. But when I post it it just comes up as a twenty empty box.
Best thing I could do is add the URL as a hyperlink so ppl should be able to see it.
Can't figure out why it didn't work. The code was [IMG][/IMG] if that helps but I've not had problems with any other HTML code on here

I think its my fault, I havent used flickr for sharing. For the above image I linked from Instagram, but its not straighforward to do. (You have to inspect the page with a decoder like firebug and know which link to pull back!)

I have done some investigating and found a way, On flickr, if you click on the share button (sideways pointing arrow) you can share via BBCODE which should display the image on your post.
Thanks Hannah for encouragement. Can't see any photos. Must be because I am on my phone.

It might be because your on a mobile, its just a photo of the staging my husband built today, its on instagram too if you can see it there? (link)

I am just reading your thread now :)

greent - Its always nice to meet another mother of four! I recognise your name from when I was here in 2013, a huge congratulations on paying your mortgage off :T:T

castlelough - Thank you, I am really pleased with it and keep telling DH, I think hes board of hearing me now! :rotfl: The greenhouse was from freecycle, I posted there to ask if anyone had any spare blue water piping or scaffolding boards/pipes as we were hoping to build our own polytunnel from recycled materials. A lady offered a plastic greenhouse and I arranged to collect thinking it was one of the tiny ones, and it was a fullsized perspex greenhouse! She also gave me strawberry plants and plant pots, Im going to visit her this year with a huge basket of veg/fruit to say thank you again

Thank you for commenting on my blog too, I hope you enjoy the book, its really helped me, and selling some our unneeded things has helped us financially too. :)

Petal88 - Thank you, Its lovely to hear your inspireded, Ive had a quick read and subscribed to your thread too, good luck with your Journey :)

Storm Katie managed to ruin all my plans for today! DH called at @ldi to buy compost and they had sold out, so he came home with just bin bags :rotfl:

We had family round for dinner this evening, so I baked a chocolate fudge cake to save some money, it must have been okay because it vanished in seconds! We cooked some of our homegrown leeks with dinner, they were tiny but still gorgeous...

  • Quick Update

    Tilly Tidy still not showing.

Had an allotment meeting in town and popped into tescos for a loaf of bread. Left with 1 loaf of bread, 2 bags of hotdog bread buns, 2 pieces of cheese, a bag of oranges and apples, some red hot chilli peppers, 2 pots of beef spread and some coldeslaw and a bag of tomatos for £1.26, plus the 97p for bin bags yesterday. = £2.23 spent. (now 112.13 to spend untill 3rd May on groceries)

Our allotments have suffered a lot of theft, vandalism and arson since the start of winter, and the meeting was with the police, fire service and town council. The basic message was to come together as a community and report everything, and that if we pulled together we could create a commitee and possibly gain access to funding for floodlighting and possibly increased security.

One of our local councellors said she would help with funding, but I asked the question and I arn't sure anyone else would be prepared to organise it, though I could probably find 4 other willing people to help should I take it on. I would love to help, but I am not sure I have the time to put in! :(

Over the last few weeks Ive discussed moving to New Zealand to live in a yurt, buying a smallholding in Ireland and cutting back to the very basics including selling our car. Only the first idea wasnt a serious contender, DH isnt on board (yet) and probably thinks I am having some kind of mid life crisis :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This reminds me of a TV show I've seen in the past. Bloke from a bank (or architect or something) has enough with the world and decides to give it all up and get a goat and live a very basic life with his wife and annoys his snooty neighbours. They end up having a Good Life though :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • There could be a new show! The Good Life 2. Not sure DH is on board, but I think the little ones would be.... :rotfl:The more I think about it, the more I think I would actually love to try it, I would love a smallholiding. DH couldnt live without technology, but as long as he had some form of internet it would be fine I am sure.... maybe hamster powered:rotfl:

I couldn't do it. I love my creature comforts. I don't even do camping!
I'm not 100% convinced with glamping either
