Oh you have been busy! Sorry to hear work has been awful. It's so hard to get through it some days. I know for me I run out of energy and motivation about 2.30 so it's torture!
Not long till your break, at least you can recharge, although I'm sure you'll be busy traipsing round being touristy, it's a different kind of busy. A fun busy!

Well, I'm back! Got back yesterday from Prague, we had a lovely lovely time. It was so cold, but the Christmas decorations there were breathtaking and our hotel was right around the corner from the Old Square where it was all going on, so we were happy. The Christmas market was so cute, we got some nice decorations for our mums. Maybe next year we'll have our own tree and we'll be buying one for that!? (I can dream!)
Today I'm off work again (yay), should be going up to London for dinner to see two of my good girlfriends. We all live so far from each other now, and I don't work in London anymore, so it can be difficult to meet up with them. I think we're all a bit fed up with certain aspects of our lives so I think it's going to be a long-old catch up!
Got paid today, and I've done the usual money-shuffle. I was so so bad this month - ended up in my overdraft to the tune of *whisper it* £200!! Although it's not awful in that it incurs me charges (although I do pay £6 for the privilege) it's become a habit that I really need to break. I realise if I get out of my OD one month, I won't need to do it the next month because I'm always around the same amount overdrawn....so I'm spending the same amount of money each month.
The bf has told me what he wants for his final christmas present, and it's within budget. I need to finalise a few other presents, the list feels long but I've included my cats in that so really it's not that bad!!
So plan for today is:
[STRIKE]do my nails
wash my hair[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]go for a run (brave the cold!)
yoga[/STRIKE]
buy some Christmas presents
[STRIKE]finish my book[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]get ready to go out!
[/STRIKE]
I think that's doable. It's been so nice not to have to go to work today, dreading going back tomorrow....I've heard from a colleague that it kicked off while I was away, nothing to do with me per se but it just ruins the mood. It's such a small office that whenever anything like that happens it affects everyone. Oh well. Only two work days left so I'm sure I can cope :A
I feel I've lost my MSE way a little, fallen off the selling wagon and surveys (again). I think life has gotten the best of me the past few months, I know I can turn it around though. December is always difficult due to Christmas, but money-wise I should be ok as I have a whole fund for it this year. Should also cover some socialising!
Anyway I best get off. Happy Hump Day0 -
Just thought I'd check in -
Work was hellish yesterday - a third party website that we use got hacked, so our customers received a dodgy email that was a very good copy of one of ours. Cue lots of people telling us how unacceptable it is and how we've given fraudsters their details. At least it made the day go quick I suppose!
Didn't spend anything yesterday, today I've bought a snack for work and as I'm going over the bf's tonight I'll probably buy some food from Tesco. Might do some Xmas shopping in Tesco while I'm there as well, some alcohol sets for a few people on my list. We'll see.
Today is a more chilled day at work luckily, but as the third party website still has me locked out while they look into the issue, a lot of what I'd planned to get done will have to wait
Saw my nephew properly for the first time last night, lots of cuddles which is lovely. I love babies but definitely not ready for one yet! My cat is baby enough for me right now :rotfl:
Happy Friday everyone0 -
Happy Sunday!
After saying work was a better day on Friday, it suddenly got manic again. Still having issues with the third-party website after the hack, so frustrating.
Yesterday was a busy day - went for a 5.5 mile run, then went to the beauty salon that I get my facials done at as I needed to pick up more skincare bits. Then I went to Tesco and bought some bits to take to the bf's house, and also got a couple of small presents to add to my list. Also some necessary sanitary bits (I always try to use the cheap versions but I "treated" myself to the branded stuff this time:rotfl: oh the luxury). Some of that spend I took back out of my xmas fund.
Then I had to help the bf's mum decorate a space in a local pub as it was the bf's sister's 30th. We then joined the party later in the evening, and I didn't spend too much as the bf kept getting his card out. Two ubers at £5 each, and then a round of drinks for me and him at £7.50. I am lucky that he treats me like that! We were up until 3am though as the party continued back at the house, so I'm very tired today!
Today has been chilled - we watched Jingle all the way in bed, then I ventured back home and have done a bit of tidying. Now watching Christmas videos on youtube with my two cats.
Spends over the next week should be fairly low - I need to buy more food for work lunches (probably just tins of beans and bread as usual! Lovely cheap lunch that I'm not sick of yet). We may go to the cinema Wednesday but not confirmed. Saturday we will stay in so just need to buy dinner. I need to finish off my xmas shopping but my fund is still going strong so I'm confident I can get it done within budget. :money:0 -
Some spends today as I went to the SM before work-
Lunches for the week (beans and bread) - 94p beans and 45p bread
Deicer for my car - £2.50
A cheeky latte from Cost@ and a yoghurt - £4.50 (gave me the perking up that I desperately needed this morning!)
I shouldn't need to spend any more for work food so that's it for now. Hopefully no more spends until Wednesday0 -
Well the week ended a bit poorly as I had a massive headache from Thursday....think I've still go the remnants of it now but luckily it's Saturday so I can take it easy. Annoying though as I had to miss my Thursday run and couldn't do any yoga either.
I've got my last facial from my paid-for sessions today, just as well as I've had a nice red juicy spot come up on my cheek - the place that I scar(!).
This week I spent £14.58 in Tesco, which was for dinner for bf and I on Wednesday and some other bits, and I spent £6 in coop yesterday on a work lunch and a lunch for today, so I'm not tempted to go into a greggs or something after my facial. I may have to go to Tesco later as I'm chilling with the bf and I might have to buy dinner, but we'll see. Either way I've not spent a huge amount this week so I'm happy with that.
My headache also meant I haven't got to writing my Xmas cards or wrapping any presents yet. I've felt exhausted all week. I NEED to get onto that this weekend, especially as I've got 2 cards to post. They will still get there in time now won't they!?
Ok so the plan for this weekend (as long as I feel ok) is:- [STRIKE]yoga x2[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]6 mile run[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]write xmas cards (and post!)[/STRIKE]
- do some xmas wrapping
- [STRIKE]tidy & clean bedroom[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]declutter bedroom[/STRIKE] got rid of so much stuff yay!
- clean bathroom

Well although I got a lot done this weekend I didn't get all of it done....to be honest though I'm happy with how much I achieved, I still had a massive headache on Saturday so I thought it would be a lost cause. Spent an hour or so BLITZING my room and have bags and bags of stuff to go to the charity shop. Some stuff I've just given up on selling now, just want it out. I also managed a 6 mile run, best run I've had for a long time, and I thought it would be bad as my stomach was a bit dodgy. Saw some gorgeous xmas lights as I was running after dark (naughty). Lovely way to spend an hour or so
I spent in the SM last night, £16 but my bf will give me £13 towards that (or pay for a lunch sometime....I hardly ever see the cash itself!).
Trying to submit some books to webuybooks but the app crashed when I tried to login and lost all the books I'd just scanned  Trying it now through the website. That would be about a tenner if I can get it to work!
So plan for tomorrow (after work)
-yoga
-wrapping
-clean bathroom
-call car insurer to ask why my quote is £40 higher than last year!0 -
Money spent - £1 on cranberry juice.
I phoned my insurer after looking for quotes - they were all pretty much the same except my policy was 10 months whereas I was being quoted elsewhere for 12 months. I managed to get my insurer down to their 10 month price for a 12 month policy, so it works out pretty much the same as the other quotes I'd got elsewhere online. Plus I have a few extras that I didn't want to give up for fear of needing them as soon as I stop them! So £650.45 is what I've got to find for my renewal next month now! I'm annoyed that I didn't put money away for it each month like I would've done normally, but I've learnt my lesson now and will put more away each month for the next time! Hate being in this position. I've got money I can claw from other accounts, and worst comes to the worst I take it from my deposit fund *sob* oh the woes of being an adult! I don't understand why the quotes were all still high, I have 2 years no claims as I've had two 10 month policies, but they all seemed higher than last year for some reason. I don't understand insurance at all though so I might be talking out my behind :rotfl:0 -
Managed to be fairly productive last night, after speaking to my insurer I wrapped 12 presents (still got a fair few more to do though!) My back is really sore for some reason so I didn't do any yoga. Tonight I'm seeing my bf rather than tomorrow (he has to watch the football tomorrow ofc so we have to swap days!). That will be a pub dinner/couple of drinks and a bus fare there and back, should be about £20 max.
I bought another present last night, and have an idea for a voucher for someone else, I only have 2/3 left to go now, almost there!!
ETA had to put some petrol in my car, so spent £20 which is about half a tank (how expensive is fuel atm!!! Crazy)0 -
So Tuesday night I went out with the bf - £1.50 x 2 on bus fare, and £8.80 in the pub. He paid for the food and 2 rounds of drinks as he's an angel lol!
Wednesday was an awful awful day at work - had to keep going to the bathroom to calm down. Spent £1.50 on a loaf of bread. Did some yoga when I got home, and then decided to do a bit of pampering. I shaved, moisturised, fake tanned, washed and blowdryed my hair, and did a manicure and pedicure (obviously not in that order). It made me feel a bit more human after my horrible day! Also did some meditation so I could go to bed peaceful....(wishful thinking lol!)
Hoping for a better day today, should be a NSD so let's see how it goes.0
