Wonga Reporting Incorrect Information To Call Credit

Hi All,

Great forum first time poster....

I have been trying to re-mortgage my home and unfortunately I have some issues with my CallCredit credit file. In 2011 I stupidly took out a Payday Loan with Wonga. They have reported that for 3 months in 2011 a debt management plan was in force (DM shown on credit file). I have never entered into such a plan, the information Wonga have reported to Experian is correct but not to CallCredit?

I know that it does not mean much but my credit score with Experian & Equifax is excellent while my score with CallCredit is very poor. As this is the only black mark on my credit file, I can only guess that this "DM" flag is causing it. Could a DM flag mean a repayment plan to Wonga or does it mean a fully fledged DMP with a specialist company etc? because I certainly have never entered into anything like that.

Any advice would be gratefully received as CallCredit/Wonga are not doing much to help the situation.

Cheers, D

Hi there and welcome to MSE.

If Experian and Equifax are confirming the correct information then you should make a formal complaint. You can send it to Wonga and Call Credit and ask them to update their records, but if you have already done this and they are not responding or refusing to amend the data then send it to the Information Commissioner (they regulate the credit agencies).
