My double glazing window makes some weird noise

Every now and then, I hear what sounds like a small pebble hitting the window in the bedroom. It happened at least 10 times since yesterday, even at night. Absolutely nothing outside. The window is a newly installed double-glazing one. Other windows downstairs do not "emit" anything similar. Wonder what that could be.

Is it uPVC? Has it been in the sun? Could be expanding/contracting.0

My UPVC in the conservatory does this when the sun starts shining on it. As above its expanding / contracting as the temperature changes. Not sure if this is the same thing as you but it could be.0

It is not sun-facing but it is uPVC. It is on the first floor and is probably the warmest of our rooms. So potentially yes. But yet if the contraction/expansion happens to all windows, I should certainly hear it elsewhere. Links are a man's best friends.com0

Depends on how much the window is heating up/cooling down.
I hear the same thing on my guttering on one side of the house, not the other.0 -
We get this with our bathroom window - when someone is in the shower and it's cold outside you'll hear a 'thunk' from the window, almost like something has hit it. It took me ages to work out what it was, I kept looking outside for dead birds as it sounded just like one had flown into the window.0

Either you or ask someone to take out you DG unit and put transport pads on top of your glazing blocks .(anything soft and spongey ) your frame is contracting with heat .if it's new and internal glazed your gasket should be OK although a little wd40 when the glass is out won't hurt repeat . is your frame not white ? (Brown black grey crack more often ) sometimes it sorts itself out .other times you end up living with it . .I've chased whistles buzzzzzzes cracking humming etc all over different windows .sometimes just had to give up:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

The eventual result is that the panels will fail.
The noise you hear is most likely the sound the seals make when the rubber releases it's grip on the glass. Trouble is the glass is gripped by rubber both sides, when the grip is greater on on side than the other the 2 glass panes shear their seal, hence misted glass panesI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
