Just noticed we are being charged £65 for an Engineer's visit. The Talk Talk equipment was faulty!! Sorry about that, we'll charge you this month and take it off your next 2 bills. Luckily I have an extra £65, many don't. Why did they not read the Engineer's report before raising a charge?

Is this a 'Bright Sparks' employee (who are not, BTW, in any way qualified as engineers). A BT OR engineer charge would be more like £130. What equipment was faulty, what was the fault|? You do not lease equipment such as the router from TT, it's yours from day one, and if it fails out of warranty then you do not automatically get a free replacement, though very often one can be blagged FOC.
VM are the only ISP where the equipment is leased and maintained by them at no cost to you.
Even if the router was faulty, it's a self install item, so you would still be charged for a visit, as normallly they would diagnose remotely and send you one out, whether as a chargeable item or free.
