Alloy wheel problem

I was thinking of getting the wheels re-furbished would that solve the problem? Or would I need to replace the wheel I would have to try & get one from a breakers yard I suppose.
Just a small point but you may want to get both wheels on the same side of the car done together. If you don't you may find the colour mismatch is annoyingly noticeable.0 -
Alloys only have a 2-6 year life span believe it or not. Wheels can go porous, and they can crack with age. Cracking is mostly sports and off road 4x4's which are under strain.
For the cost of a refurb, you could pick up some new (used) wheels that may be alot newer anyway. Picked up a set for my old trooper for £60, swapped tyres.
You could also take the wheels and tyres off and run some filler around the inner edge, rub down and repaint that edge. That is what is letting air escape after all. Unless the whole wheel is untidy - then maybe option 1 is better after all. In which case, part wheel sets are very cheap!!0 -

Having 30 year alloys that are still fine, I struggle to understand how any manufacturer could sell a car where the expected life of an alloy is c 2 years.
Can you provide evidence of this ?0 -
