Had an email from diy.com that a 'local' B & Q is closing in May, and that there 'closing down sale' has started.
No examples, of what's on offer, or what the % reduction could be - don't know whether to go and look or not!?
Anybody, seen anything .... ?

My local B&Q closed down recently.
A lot of what was being sold were customer returns and (I guess) stock that had been lying around in the back of the warehouse for quite a while.
If you buy anything - especially if the packaging has been damaged or opened - just make sure that it contains all the bits and pieces !0 -
I went - more out of curiosity than expectation. They still had plenty of stock - in every department, but too early - only 10% off, though the Diamond card will still work on Wednesday.

Be wary. I bought a Karcher at closing down prices and found the same one in a different store that wasn't closing £7 cheaper!!! Most stuff has gone from one near me that closes end April. Like half the store is empty. I managed to bag a load of aerosol paints at 5 for £10 including all the rustoleum ones that are usually £8 in there anyway.
Discounts allegedly ranging up to 45% at moment. Xxx0 -
The Northallerton one closed down recentlymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Our local one closed about a month ago. They did the initial reductions (10-40%) off at least a month before closing and the prices stayed like that until about 5 days until closing. By the time there were final reductions there wasn't a lot left. Worth going for a look if you need things like paint or wood stain as those were on a good reduction, but most things weren't reduced enough to make it worthwhile.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. My local branch (Derry branch) closed recently. From memory it started at 30% of all stock, and at the end was 80% off all stock.
Unfortunately power tools and other expensive items were removed before the Closing Down Sale started!0
