Hi.
I purchased a part for my car, via an internet forum, on Wednesday 14th March. The seller wrapped, packaged and labelled the item and sent it the next day at 15:25 via Parcelforce 48.
I was expecting the item on the 17th, (48 hours later) but nothing arrived.
Apparently delivery was attempted at 20:05, but l was in and no one came to my address. The next day, the item was out for delivery but again failed to arrive. Over the weekend nothing came either.
The part is needed for my car to run properly, and as l use my car for my job, l have been unable to work for the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and also for today (Monday).
Apparently, the parcel will be with me today.
Is there anything l can do to claim for my loss?
Thanks,
Ben.

The seller can claim from parcelforce. You can maybe claim from seller.0

Your days and dates are wrong. 14th March was a Monday. Try to keep the story believable. Come back with proper dates.
If we assume that you bought on the Wednesday, you are claiming that Parcelforce attempted delivery at 20:05 on a Saturday night. I don't think so. I also don't believe the item was out for delivery the following day, a Sunday.
Personally, I like Parcelforce best because, if I am not in, they take the package to my local post office, rather than a depot 30 miles away.0 -
Why would anyone chose a slow delivery service for a part that was critical to get back to work in the shortest possible time?
No you can't claim for consequencial losses, either from the seller or PF.0 -

Maybe because it was the cheapest service?0 -

Derrr, if the PF service states 48hrs maybe they believed it could get there in that time? Just like any other service that specifies a time limit.
Any courier, whatever price, can suffer delay.
Plus, PF is the better service amongst the cheapskate options that like loses parcels completely or throwing them over back gates, for example.
Are we clear now?0 -

True, but something like Royal Mail Special delivery is very rarely late and if it is, it normally by hours rather than days.
It's more expensive that PF48 but if my livelihood depended on the item arriving, I know which one I would use. (provided of course that the sender was willing to send it the way I wanted).0 -

We have regular customers who message us saying they need their items urgently but have only selected the free 2nd class option. We always offer 1st class and Special Delivery which they can select at checkout but nope, 2nd class will do but they still need it yesterday!0
