MSE,
I am currently 8 months into a 16 month contract with Virgin. We are due to move into our first home in a months time but after many searches online and internet checkers we have found out Virgin is not availble in that area.
What will happen? Can we cancel free if charge?

My daughter was in this situation when she last moved and as Virgin could not provide the service to her new address she was allowed to end the contract early.0

You can ask, but you contracted for the supply of service to an address, then are breaking the contract early by leaving that address and leaving the supplier unable to supply.
I don't understand why you would take out a long contract for a service that may not be portable if planning to move.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
You can ask if you can cancel free of charge, but i'm certain they will refuse and you'll have to pay the remainder of your contract.
Otherwise anyone who didn't want to remain in contract could claim they were moving to a new area and quote an address Virgin can't supply. All your base are belong to us.0 -
No, you will pay an ETC based on the 8 months remaining, since you are breaking the contract, not VM. Read any of the dozens of other threads on this subject, the question is asked several times weekly.
However the answer remains the same.No free lunch, and no free laptop
