Thanks for the replies everyone.
@googler, is it as simple as that? It should arrive Wednesday so if it has a disc then that would be my preferred choice as it sounds simple!0 -
please d/load the LATEST version of win 10 , however most of the adverts are saying win 7 (64 bit) , in which case you will have to upgrade the OS before progressingSave a Rachael

Am I right in thinking if I use the option to put Windows 10 onto a USB stick, I won't even need a cable, simply download Windows 10 onto it and then swap the drives over and boot from the stick?
Thanks everyone so far0 -
yes , basicly that link I gave you will download an iso and ask you to usb or DVD , and burn it
HOWEVER , to use it your old drive would need to have win 10 on it , as m/soft register the bios/motherboard* to check that it had run win 10 before
* basic but not accurate info , just accept it for now
get your machine , check that its running win 10 or upgrade on your old drive THEN d/load the iso , swop drives and boot from pen/dvd , upon ser number , press skip as its already registeredSave a Rachael

You need to make sure during the migration that you enable TRIM (might be available in your migration software), or at least check in Windows afterwards, and if it's not using TRIM, you can change it.0

The dells are a treasure trove. I have a 12" Dell latitude e6230. They used 1x4gb stick so I could cheaply buy another 4gb and make it 8gb. Also they have provided 3 mini pcie slots, only one is used so I can add another mini pcie Ssd and/or 4g sim card.
The inside seems very well kitted for such a small laptop0
