I want to set up a basic website for a volunteer group i help with. To include links to other websites, a contact us portal, a page for reviews and where i can add logos and links for supporting local businesses.
I heard that there's a few website builders i can do myself. As i have never made a website before, any advice on what is the easiest site to use? I have heard Vista and Wix and few more, but confused by them all to be frank. Especially as the pricing plans are not clear. As its a volunteer group my budget is cheap as possible to be honest, thus don't mind any ads on the page.
thanks

If you have limited funds, you should be able still to get your own domain a '.org.uk' for example. Check 1&1's site for prices ( http://www.1and1.co.uk/ ), they're not expensive. In fact 1&1 have the first year for £1 for some domains.
Then you could pick a free website host to host your domain, I like hostinger.co.uk but there are others I'm sure other people can recommend. They offer a free site builder, with templates and stuff to get you up and running.0 -

Wix isnt very mobile/responsive friendly as it tends to be flash based. I'd look at other options If i were you. Depends on what you want the website to do in all honesty0

It going to be a portal, information site for links to other businesses, reviews and information. Plus a contact me page if anyone wants me to offer my service to them - a bit like blogging but more formal. Mobile friendly would be useful, as most people use mobiles to check sites these days.0

Facebook or Wordpress would probably do the job, no cost as ad supported.0

already have a FB page, but a website would be more impressive and I can use for reviews and external links and possibly affiliate links too0 -
If you have never built your website before, go for a pre-designed template like these on templatemonster website. They are quite flexible and customizable. Good luck!0
