I do not want Windows 10 installed on my Win 7 / 64 pro PC - And have removed the upgrade files necessary to do this (or so I thought)...
I have just booted up to discover that MS have, somehow installed an update on my PC - That "automatically" started the download and informed me that I have an hour before Win 10 is available to use...
I only discovered this by clicking on the insidious white square icon !!
Which I have stopped - for the time being
What do MS think that they are doing ?
I paid over £150 for my RETAIL Win 7 DVD - 7 years ago and intend to use Win 7 for another 7 years !!

They are doing something sly, underhand, unprofessional, and confirming every bad thought that industry insiders used to have about MS during the Gates/Ballmer days. The king is dead, long live the king.

It's shoddy and I await to see some legal action when it screws up someone with enough financial clout to take them on.

    The Register nailed it.
  • Agree GWX Control Panel is worth a go, for an unwanted intrusion.

There must be something wrong with your configuration then, GWX control panel has stopped it on all my PC's and I've not seen it fail on anyone else's pc I've recommended it to. It's the only way I've found to block Windows 10 as other methods get overridden.
