Dual fuel or Dual suppliers?

My fixed contract is coming up to an end so its time to search for a new deal. I can get a "Dual Fuel" supply cheapest from GB Energy but if I search for each individual energy supply I can get it £28 cheaper by using 2 different suppliers (dali gas and Avro electricity).

Is there any disadvantage with using 2 suppliers over the dual fuel route? Will it be a pain to sort out either now to change into them or when I go to change out again later?

Always stuck with dual fuel up to now.

Either its as simple as dual or looking at gas then electric .
Just in the middle of swapping gas to Zog and Elec to GB . Its much the same as my last dual fuel swap .

No problem at all. I am with GB Energy for electricity (good so far) and EDF for gas.

Saved significantly by separating away from dual fuel.

Dual fuel discounts seem to have reduced or disappeared or less significant.

Very happy with two suppliers: Zog and GBEnergy. The two deals that I am on are £37 a year cheaper than ML's last collective deal. It is important to look at the detail as dual fuel/online billing discounts hide the true cost of the energy.

I can't think of any disadvantage of having seperate suppliers - we survived in the olden days when we all bought our gas from British Gas and our electricity from the local supplier

However there is clearly a £28 p.a. penalty for you if you don't choose seperate suppliers at this time.

    What is this penalty?

A dual fuel discount is an offer for subscribing to both fuels. The decision point is simply what is the lowest overall cost.
