Credit ReBuild Dilema

Spilt from estranged Hubby a year ago, I'm in rented accommodation he is still in the family house,Im trying to re-build my credit rating as he defaulted a few times last year on the mortgage payments, joint mortgage.Once the family house is sold..hopefully this year I'm going to have to try & get a mortgage of my own for myself & the two children. What he did has affected my credit rating as did a soft search on credit cards and it only offers me the re build ones. Would this still be the way to go inorder to increase my mortgage acceptance chances..try and get that credit rating up ?

Corrected that for you, lenders don't have access to/see your score irrespective what they say. Its your file your wanting to add to.
The rebuild cards might only be the cards open to you, its not necessary to have a credit card, just be responsible with money.0 -
Getting a CC and repaying in full every month will help to improve your credit file without costing you anything.0
