Sky payment scam or Sky hacked

Has Sky been hacked or are they running some sort of scam. They tell me they have no payment details for me and that the card company has refused my monthly payment after over 20 years of card payments with no problems. The card company say Sky failed to put the card expiry date on the charge request and they just need to resubmit with correct details. All Sky's call lines immediately switch me into an automated system demanding I enter into a new Direct Debit system so I can't talk to anyone. Is this gross incompetency or less than honest dealing

    Neither. Just an admin glitch.

It's probably an admin error - is there really any need for all this overdramatisation? "Gross Incompetency" are you having a laugh? They've made a billing error, not summoned a hostile alien race via your satellite dish!

FYI; you are aware that they have a dedicated self service/automated phone line - it sounds like you're ringing this.

Probably getting ready to change their system to encourage more customers to pay by DD rather than by Card.
