Being based on an older models underpinnings doesn't make an old shape 300C a Mercedes.

Equivalent to 50-65mpg from which vehicle?

Do you have proper figures to back up that statement?

Something like an C230K will give mid 20's maybe a little more, LPG gives less MPG than petrol so at best low 20's, more likely high teens.

LPG is no longer half the price of petrol, but even doubling the highest figure you are looking at an equivalent of low 40's.

I know some people that have converted cars to LPG. One had a Subaru Legacy (10 yr old Jap Import/ non turbo) he did mostly longer journeys in it, about 30k a year, served him well for the thick end of 5 years, till it developed a misfire and needed the valves replaced.

He reckoned he was getting an equivalent of high 30's.

His Legacy was immaculate, one owner and under 20k miles when imported. He was after reliability more than MPG and he got that up till it suffered valve seat recession, he got another year or so out of it I believe and he then got an NHS Lease Car for commuting. (Diesel i30)

As a BMW owner I would say Saab.

But as others are mentioning other vehicles, I'd go for a Lexus.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
  • Saab no longer exist - so that's an issue with parts, service costs, etc. As already mentioned, wasn't the 9-3 less Vauxhall and more their own inhouse work? So unless you've got a fairly local guy who is a Saab expert you could be looking at sending it away to get repaired for big stuff.

Thats actually not true, there is no issue with Saab parts at all!!
There is still a UK wide repair network who supply saab original parts.
And no it was not a Vauxhall in disguise, it shares some common parts but totally different car

saabparts.com is the website which has full support for saab drivers

I'm not making a definitive judgement but this looks remarkably like spam for Orio AB.

The age wouldn't bother me, but the low mileage might.

The BMW is renowned for its build quality. The Saab is renowned for being a tarted-up Vauxhall Vectra.

The BMW is also renowned for being Basildon Man's Wheels, for being Bought Mainly by W*nkers, and for being a volume car, like the Ford Mondeo, which is rarer and hence more exclusive.

You also have to factor in the time it takes to learn gross selfishness and appalling road manners, which are essential if you are to drive a BMW like all other BMWs are driven. Also, your neighbours, far from being impressed, will pity you and your lack of imagination.

    I'd get the Saab.

Why would it be spam? It's a similar link to the one I posted in post #5....

Only selling at due to his age/medical probs and not able to drive

You have to not be able to drive to own a BMW. It's the law.

I've just put a deposit down on this lovely BMW and managed to knock the garage down to £5650. Id go for the BMW.

Does that price include the German taxi driver's uniform?

You might want to put a yellow roof box on that or something, so it'll stand out when you're looking for it in car parks.
