    If you're the crafty sort then a pretty gift box with a bow?

    For a bit of fun, how about in a plain gift box, wrap with paper and then make it like a pass the parcel - lots of layers of paper (possibly alternate papers to make it obvious there are different layers) and inside each layer is a picture of something that gives a clue about the destination?
    Making mistakes is not the end of the world, though it often feels that way!

    Roll them up tightly and put them in a jar of M&Ms, similar to this.

    How about buying a book of the Icelandic sagas and putting it in there? You sound like an awesome parent by the way!

    I would put the tickets in a block of ice so she had to defrost it to get the them...

    You could buy a guide book and put the tickets in that.

    Put the tickets inside a good pair of gloves.

    Buy a suitcase for her and put them inside that.
    Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
