Default does not show up on free credit check

Hello,
I have a near perect credit rating on Noddle and Clearscore.
I recently applied for a car loan through HSBC and was advised that they would lend me the money even though I had a blemish on my credit check. They suggested I subscribe to Equifax to discover the issue as they were not aloowed to share the information.
After I subscribed to Equifax I found that I had missed a few payments of £3 per month to BT for my email account. My credit card had expired and I had missed the email asking me to provide an new card number. So, total debt was about £12 and this appeared as a Red Flag.
My question to the experts on this forum is... Why didn't this red flag show up on either Noddle or Clearscore? If it had I could have fixed the problem in the month it occured?
BTW - It still does not show up on my free credit reports.
Thanks

Noddle - they may not report to CallCredit, which is the datasource for Noddle.
Clearscore:- could...
(a) be an error from clearscore. They are new and systems may still have occasional error
(b) be a difference in input data. e.g. you gave more old addresses when you got your report generated direct by Equifax, or in slightly different format that the BT was being recorded against. Even slight mismatches can make the difference between an account showing up or not when a report is generated.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

the free ones tend to have a lot of missing bits. mainly noddle.
however in saying that equifax does't update for me, but clearscore does?!
but whetever I only care for experian as they have everything 100%. but it does affect me when I apply for anything where they only use Equifax. I can't get anything with M&S cause of it.0 -
I think BT only report you to Equifax.
"A blemish on your credit check". Yes, don't forget that one single late payment has an equivalent of about 10,000 on-time payments when it comes to lenders analysing the data the CRAs publish about you.
It's amazing isn't it - HSBC were "not allowed to share the information". That is, they've obtained information about YOU pedalled by a third party but are not allowed to tell YOU what it is. :rotfl:0
