Wins 10 laptop storage full!?!?!?

hi all

I have a wins 10 laptop that I upgraded from wins 7.
Its a 500gb hard drive and its telling me its full.
yes I have a lot of photos and music on it but when I check the storage usage on it, the apps and games comes back at 173gb.
when I open this and add it all up its nowhere near that amount.
Am I missing something? is there something wrong?

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Is full :-) Empty Recycle bin. See what this gives you.

If you cannot see the Recycle Bin...
    1. Select the Start button in the bottom left corner of the taskbar, then Settings.
    2. Select Personalisation > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
    3. Select the Recycle Bin checkbox, then Apply.

Got a large external drive/USB stick? Start MOVING photos/music to it.

And/or if you're sure you won't go back to wins 7, delete it...

Here's the proper way to delete the Windows.old folder:
Step 1: Click in Windows' search field, type Cleanup, then click Disk Cleanup.
Step 2: Click the "Clean up system files" button.
Step 3: Wait a bit while Windows scans for files, then scroll down the list until you see "Previous Windows installation(s)."

Step 4: Check the box next to the entry, then make sure there are no other boxes checked (unless you do indeed want to delete those items). Click OK to start the cleanup.

    ok ive just done that,
the option wasn't there to delete the wins 7 files, I deleted tempory internet files which freed up 34mb of space.

Thanks for your help by the way

You could also install windirstat and use that to see which files/folders are using the space http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/windirstat/windirstat1_1_2_setup.exe

And then ask for more help if needed
