Vista DVD in 2000

Technology works great until you hit compatability issues. Vista has some fancy DVD stuff thta means you can keep draging and dropping stuff onto a DVD and it will write it, then you can eject the DVD without finalising it, so you can add stuff later. Since my machines only run XP and Vista, and this only works in XP and Vista, there was never a problem.
I'm now at work in Wales, away from my computer, and I have 2 DVDs made this way I want to copy. However, all the computers here are running windows 2000, which won't open the DVD.
I want to make copies of the DVDs (All the contain are several .avi files), but the easiest way of doing it (copying them to the PC then to a new DVD) won't work since I can't open the DVD in explorer. So, do you know of a way I can finalise the DVD so other PCs can read it, or alternatively, do you know of any free software that would let me copy the DVD?
TLDR: I need a free DVD ripper that will rip a DVD created using the new vista DVD burning technologu that can't be read on windows 2000 PCs.

If this was a daily re-occurence, then i would really look into this for you.
However as it's only 2 DVDs.
Surely the easest way would be to walk into a library and/or find a Vista system somewhere nearby (local shop) to either finalise the disk or re-burn them onto a new DVD?0 -
Download and install Deepburner Free. Works fine on Vista and has a very "Nero-esque" interface.0
