I've just switched supplier because I got so frustrated with NPower.
A couple of years ago before the kids moved out I got a huge winter electricity bill and entered into a payment arrangement to pay it off in instalments on top of paying my regular monthly payment for future use.
I've been using their Online Account facility to monitor my bills and that shows no split between my normal account and payment arrangement. After my Warm Home Discount was applied at the end of February and my latest DD went out this week my online account was showing as in credit overall by almost £74. So I decided to ring them and cancel the extra payments against the arrears and just continue paying my regular payment.
The woman I spoke to said that after amalgamating the two I now have a £67 debit balance! I'm not sure how they came to that figure but can't help but think I'm either being ripped off or their billing systems are rubbish. Will have to see what shows up on my online account once the adjustments she made have been applied to it but I can't see how they arrived at that debit figure at all.
Got so annoyed I went and used a comparison site to get a better deal and saved £65 on my yearly bill bringing it down under £300
Has anyone else encountered this type of problem with NPower billing?

Have you taken frequent meter readings .
NP problems yes see the forum see national newspapers .0 -
Yes I send in regular meter readings which is why my bill is usually pretty accurate but I cannot see how I'm nearly £150 out by going back to paying via one payment each month instead of 2! The arrears balance was never deducted from my main account on the online billing system and both monthly payments showed up in it against my overall balance and yet whatever the woman did to cancel my arrears payment arrangement has somehow left me £67 in debit instead of £74 in credit. I'll wait a few days to see what happens on my account and if it's still wrong I'll have to take it up with them again before I get my final bill when my supplier switch goes through.0

It's Npower - bamboozling & erroroneus billing is par for the course so don't be surprised if your final final (the "final" one could well be wrong!) bill tells yet another story before you're shot of them0
