DRO joint or single claim, dependant financially on partner

Options
Good Morning,
How does a DRO work with regards to me being dependant financially on partner, I am a stay at home mum, and my partner works full time,
also, what happens if the debt is joint.?

Will we both have to do a DRO?

Many Thanks

If debits are joint you both need to go insolvent (DRO bankrupt or IVA). If only one party goes insolvent the other normally becomes liable for the full debt (joint and severally liable, is normal legal term you'll see on agreements)

Not 100% but if you are financially dependent on someone, then it should be easy enough to argue you have no disposable income. It may depend on how dependent you are, if you had some income of your own, then checks would need to be made to ensure you were only paying your fair share. I wouldn't worry to much about this is your a full time mum though

On the income if CB and any tax credits are paid to OH you can put your income and expenditure as £0. Some intermediaries may want you to put half of each down, but you can put this in your housekeeping expenditure, but if in reality it all goes to OH i dont see why it's worth complicating it
