Good points. Ill hand in my notice tomorrow. Someone else can pay for my life.

Where do i sign to get my free money?

I sure would appreciate the time at home with my son (i am also a single parent btw but somehow i cope)

The job centre is where you sign on.

You better make sure you do this tomorrow. Like many other benefit bashers they talk the talk but fail to back it up with real actions on their words.

I look forward to hearing tomorrow about how you kept your word, do not let us down.

Lol. Would you seriously want me to quit my job for a life of scrounging?

Yes so a decent person who'll appreciate the work can have your job instead of someone being bitter and jealous about others.

what I would like is an incentive for people to go out and work; the balance is skewed so that that isn't the case for so many people (or people work a bare minimum with no incentive to work more)

clearly some people abuse the system.

but also remember there are those born into or get into chaos if you are from a normal family you may not see or appreciate the scale and quantity of dysfunctional people and households.

I would hazard a guess most people on benefits fall into this category they dont have family support or a stable life. Im not sure what can be done to help them but its probably a more than increasing or decreasing their benefits.

it can be difficult to be understanding about paying lots of tax especially if you are self employed or run a company and have to actually wire the money to the government. Its somewhat different when its taken out of your pay cheque and you dont actually 'see' what or how much is taken

People who pay a lot of tax have a right to ask that that money be used wisely.

From my experience a lot of people who are self employed dont pay their proper levels of tax. Its called the black economy. It funny that so many of these so called companies (from mechanics to plumbers to hairdressers) ask to be paid cash in hand for a special deal. I wonder why that is.;).

There is no easy answer to this one, on the one hand society should support those that can't manage on their own, and genuinely can't find work. But on the other hand there has to be a real genuine incentive to encourage people to work, and receiving only marginally more for working in a full time job, than you would receive from being on benefits obviously doesn't do that, I really don't know what the answer is.

I work daily with such disfunctional families. The long term answer has to be education, education, education. There is no equality of opportunity in this country at this time. I visit a family, I see the parents and the example they set and I then have a pretty good idea how the kids lives will turn out. Its not rocket science but there is so much denial about this because people love the exception to the rule..........The person who rose above such afflictions to make a success of themselves. It happens but is the exception rather than the rule and far too often is used to obscure the more mundane reality.

What has that got to do with people who do pay a lot of tax?
