How longs the contract for, how much are you paying? If you know the answer to these questions which you undoubtedly do then you do have a valid contract so you have had access to a lot more information than you seem to remember.


Rejecting the car you have had for a year is not going to be easy, they are entitled to repair it.

Everything was done by email and I definitely didn't receive Terms and Conditions containing things like my cancellation rights.

That's the tricky part I guess. The leasing company were aware it was faulty from the outset and the dealership have been trying to fix things over the past year. It's just got to the point where I can't have the car going into the dealership every week

I ask because there are examples of the ombudsman instructing a lease company to cancel the agreement and take cars back where problems with the car have been more than minor.

I would estimate at least 1 month. It may not sound significant, but being without a car for 1/12th of the time is really frustrating, especially when paying upwards of £300 per month for it!

Can the garage provide an alternative vehicle? Try asking them to?

None of these explained my cancellation rights. Everything was done by email, so I can prove that no Terms and Conditions were provided.
