How longs the contract for, how much are you paying? If you know the answer to these questions which you undoubtedly do then you do have a valid contract so you have had access to a lot more information than you seem to remember.
Rejecting the car you have had for a year is not going to be easy, they are entitled to repair it.0 -
Everything was done by email and I definitely didn't receive Terms and Conditions containing things like my cancellation rights. How longs the contract for, how much are you paying? That's the tricky part I guess. The leasing company were aware it was faulty from the outset and the dealership have been trying to fix things over the past year. It's just got to the point where I can't have the car going into the dealership every weekRejecting the car you have had for a year is not going to be easy, they are entitled to repair it.

How long have you lost use of the car?
I ask because there are examples of the ombudsman instructing a lease company to cancel the agreement and take cars back where problems with the car have been more than minor. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I would estimate at least 1 month. It may not sound significant, but being without a car for 1/12th of the time is really frustrating, especially when paying upwards of £300 per month for it!unholyangel wrote: »How long have you lost use of the car?

Can the garage provide an alternative vehicle? Try asking them to?0

For clarityI started a personal contract hire for a brand new car in March 2015.
Unfortunately, from the start of the agreement, the car has seemed to spend more time at the dealership for repairs than on my driveway. For example, it has been there for the past 12 days due to it not locking, unlocking or starting. They've replaced a huge amount of electrics, but it still isn't working. In the meantime, I'm still paying for this contract hire!
Anyway, enough is enough. I want to return the car and get out of the contract hire without penalty. I'm happy to pay for what I've used, but not for anything else.
I put this to my leasing company and they won't even consider a rejection. It has been escalated to the Operations Director and they're sticking by their decision.
In the meantime, I have found that I wasn't even given any Terms and Conditions about the lease. I only signed and returned an order form and a basic one-page pre-contract information form. None of these explained my cancellation rights. Everything was done by email, so I can prove that no Terms and Conditions were provided.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, please.[/COLOR]0
