Waiting to exchange and complete...looking at opening a new bank account?

Hi All
I am (hopefully) going to be exchanging next week on a house. I know that you aren't meant to take out any additional credit before completion, but could someone tell me if opening a new bank account would effect anything? I know its not technically taking out credit, but will show a search on my file.
Its not going to be switching accounts, just opening a new one that I think me and my partner might start to use for bills etc once we get the keys and get settled.
Our mortgage is with Halifax and the bank account im interested in is also Halifax.
Thanks for any advice!

If the account has an overdraft, then it very much is taking out credit!
That said, I did it 3 months before exchange recently, and it didn't seem to bother the lender (also Halifax).0 -

If you're this close to exchange and completion just wait and do the new bank account once you have those keys in your hands, then you won't have to worry if it will affect the purchaseCurrent Mortgage 01.10.17 £113,513.88
