Incorrect sofa delivered from DFS

Earlier this year I received my sofa from DFS. It was in a different colour to the one i ordered.
I complained and asked for compensation. They tried to contact me about the issue but due to a family bereavement I didn't take the calls or follow up on the complaint. I now feel in a better position to speak to them about the issue.
Its now been 6 weeks since my original complaint. Have I lost my window of opportunity to receive any kind of compensation now, which is what I would prefer, or actually send the sofa back and ask for them to send one in the colour I ordered?

Im not sure on the legalities of it but I would say that you may have missed that boat and be relying purely on their goodwill based on evidence of the bereavement.
Having had (and used?) the sofa for 6 weeks I would imagine them being reluctant to accept it as a return as it cant now be sold on.0 -
What compensation do you think you deserve? They should replace for what you ordered but why do you think you deserve compensation?0

I meant some form of remuneration rather than sending it back and getting replacement.0

Have you used the sofa at all? Using the sofa for 6 weeks would be classed as acceptance surely?0

OK, so they send different goods to that ordered.hungledink wrote: »Earlier this year I received my sofa from DFS. It was in a different colour to the one i ordered.

You mentioned this to them, but then ignored their attempts to resolve the issue. Yes, I understand you may have had very good reasons for doing that, but DFS have no way of knowing that unless you told them.
I would suggest that after over six weeks from delivery you will have been deemed to have accepted the alternative goods sent, and it does appear that you are happy with the alternative.
So, in a nutshell, you are entitled to nothing.0
