Best way to sell a pricey guitar?

I don't really want to sell on ebay due to the fees, is there any UK site out there were I could sell a guitar in my collection where I could only accept cash etc?

Any guitar players out there?

Would a local music shop not take it off your hands?
Facebook or gumtree but be warned of time wasters. Are there no specialist music forums where there will be people who know about the item and it's worth?

Well, there's site like AVForums but that is also HiFi. Might try ringing around to local music shops but we are talking £5k here.

I would definitely go to a specialist if you could find one.

Facebook and gumtree will generate interest from time wasters, people who want champagne for beer money.

Prices on high end guitars are dropping fast, very fast, so move quickly.

If you give us a model and year then we may be able to help you value it and advertise it properly. At that price then ebay is probably not the right sales tool.
