Amex Supplementary Cards

Okay I am new to Amex, I have registered my new Amex cashback card online okay.

Now have received my wife's supplementary card, when I go to activate it, it appears to be asking me to open a new online account with user name etc..

I want it to just show all our transactions in one place, is this possible?

Also can only view my PIN online at the moment, guessing will only be able to view her PIN if I register her card as another account?

Can I then tie the two accounts together on one log in?

If you log into your online account first, there is an option to register another card. Both cards will then appear on your online account.

I have a separate login for my supplementary card - I didn't see any other option when activating it.

It actually works out well as the supplementary card holder has a separate login under which they can only see transactions made with their card.

The main cardholder will see combined transactions from both cards.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried that but it wont allow me to add the second card to my account, tells me to ring...

When I click on All Cards it shows 1 Supplementary card with my wife's name but I cannot do anything with it, like view PIN...

Just noticed when I click on Recent Transactions it shows both our names and card numbers so guess it has added her to my account.

As I didn't want to wait until her PIN arrives I thought I could view online but it only lets me view my PIN?

If I log into my supplementary card holders account I can see their pin.

You'll need to create a separate account for the sup card holder.

Thanks AJXX, so looks like I will have to register her for a new user name etc to view her PIN, just worried that if I do this I will no longer still see both our transactions under my one login/username...

Nope - well at least that didn't happen for me.

I can still see all transactions combined under my account, my sup card holder has a separate account under which they can only see their own transactions and can manage the pin number etc... for their card.

So technically two accounts, but the primary card holder can still see all combined transactions.

I can see the PINs for both cards on one account but the supplementary card is listed separately as well as listed under the main card. "Card Management -> View PIN" allows each card's PIN to be viewed.

I think I just went to "Card Management -> Activate a new Card" typed in the supplementary card details and it was added it to my account.

Sorry to bring up an old thread! I've just received mine and my partners card (hers is the supplementary). I have registered an account from in the iPhone app and activated mine but do I activate her card and then get her to setup another account after or is it the other way? Would be useful if I can see all transactions and she can see hers. Thanks

You will be able to see all transactions as you are the account holder. She will only be able to see her transactions. The cards can be/should be registered against different logins.
  • The additional cardholder will have a separate account. He'll see his transactions, but not yours; the main cardholder will see every transaction.
