Good quality garden furniture

Any recommendations for good quality garden furniture (table and chair set) which will last.
I have read at length about the various issues with teak furniture, and concluded that it would cost about £2k for a decent quality set which would last. We'd prefer not to spend that much.
Any alternative hardwoods which are a lot cheaper that anyone would recommend? Specific sources would also be much appreciated.
Or any sites you'd recommend for non-wooden furniture? We've obviously looked at the usual Ikea/Homebase/JL/etc.
Thanks in advance.

I really like the cast aluminium furniture. It looks just like cast iron but is lighter and doesn't rust.
For cheap prices try Alibaba. e.g. http://wholesaler.alibaba.com/product-detail/Heavy-duty-All-Weather-Resistant-Round_60412845620.html?spm=a2700.7724857.29.64.vHpvTF
It usually sells only in bulk but some vendors on there will supply a single unit.0 -
THat's a US site shipping from China... I"d rather buy within the UK. Thanks though, I will check out cast aluminium.0

We have teak. It's 10 years old and because I wash it and protect it once a year with Marine Oil teak preserver, it still looks like new.
We bought it at https://www.bridgman.co.uk/garden-furniture in their factory outlet store and paid £800 ish for a £3k set which back then was a fortune.0 -
That's a great deal! I would say £3k is still a fortune now, for garden furniture!
I can't see their factory outlet listed on their site... whereabouts is it please? Thanks for the pointer.0 -
Have you been in too the stores? I bought a rattan set from homebase which has been totally battered from the wind and BBQs etc but still looks as good as the day I bought it. I think it was around £600. I liked being able to sit in the chairs and test for comfort etc. This is our 3rd year of having it so I can't tell you long term. But I love they can sit out in all weathers and at worst they need a wipe down.0

A vote for aluminium! We bought our set online from Dawsons furniture 3 years ago for £1400. It's been out in all weathers and still looks as good as new.
No maintenance and just needs a quick clean each year. I wouldn't choose anything else now.Mortgage free wannabeMortgage (November 2010) £135,850Mortgage (November 2020) £4,7840 -

Do you know where their outlet is? On the website there didn't seem to be any outlet stores0 -
Have you looked in Costco? They don't have a huge range but what they have looks great quality and reasonable prices, if it suits.0

We are just about to buy some from there ourselves, unfortunately haven't done so yet, so can't give any feedback beyond saying that it was very comfortable instore!0
