You can always try the Workaway website....they offer you free accom, sometimes food, in exchange for a couple of hours work a day.

Haha me and my friend had many many discussions about this as back in 2011 you could get fan rooms for £2 a night (shared dorm) whereas air con was more like £12 plus per night.

We did Thailand, Maylasia and Singapore and I don't think we spent more than £1500 including flights.

I've just spent £6500 for Oz and New Zealand in 2 and a half months including all flights so if you shop around money will last yiu longer and live better in the countries you mentioned
