Door to garage wall
Nee
Hello,
What would be the cost of installing a door to the garage wall. I will need to get it done from scratch (cutting the side brick wall to fitting the door) Garage is not attached to my house but next to my garden. I need access from the garden into the garage.
Also what kind of door would it be better and secure? Wooden or uPvc?
I will appreciate any help on this? Many thanks

We recently purchased a new build where our garage is to the rear of our garden but they hadn't put in a side access door. We paid £600 - that included a half glazed uPVC door, labour and other materials (i.e. steel lintel), and also the installation of a cat flap to our utility room door which required a new bottom panel. It was done in a day. Whether that was a good deal or not I don't know as we were restricted as to who we could use due to having to gain permission from the developer (condition was we had to use the same door supplier to ensure visual consistency and because they trusted them, therefore the works wouldn't invalidate the developers warranty).0

I have a detached garage from the house (block of three) with a courtesy door to the garage from my garden , one thing i have noticed , when installing security lights is that the condition of the building in regards to mortar mix and brickwork is vastly inferior to the house , so go easy at that brickworkNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
