ee still showing on my credit file

Morning, I had an account with EE for my internet and phone, which ended in November 2015 when I went with plusnet.

I have been keeping an eye on my credit score on clearscore, and it is showing as an open account as 'orange home', opened Nov 2014, payments made up to Jan 2016.

My question is, how do I get this removed? I have not made any payments since Nov 2015 when I paid the last direct debit. Not only that, how is it a credit agreement? I paid by direct debit?

Thanks for your help, kez

You have the ability to run up a debt so is reported as a credit agreement. There is no real problem with it continuing to show as long as it is green. In the first instance call or write to ask them to stop reporting it.

    Hi Kezzygirl,

I would suggest that you write to them and formally close the account, send it recorded delivery and request them to stop reporting the account as 'open' or 'live'.

The account will still show for a further 6 years but if you made all of the payments correctly it won't have a negative impact on your overall rating.

Don't hold your breath - why I stated " in the first instance" ;)
