Hi
I have just set a DMP up and basically my wages this month from the NHS will still go into my old account  does anyone know roughly what time they will go into my account on a Saturday from the NHS to the co-op? As I need to clear that account as soon as it hits basically. Thank you

if it's BACS then it might not be in there till tuesday as today and tomorrow are not working days (for banks) and bacs normally takes 2-3 working days depending on who you bank with?

    a) do you owe co-op money
    b) if yes do they know you have set up a DMP
If the answers to both are yes it may be difficult getting it out.
  • Both answers are yes sadly :(

Wages normally go at 00:00 on your pay date.
So if you have online banking you can see what day and time they come in.
Mine comes at 00:00 form Portsmouth NHS.

If you've set up a formal debt management plan tephen you should have agreement with your creditors about what and when you can repay some of your debt. This would normally mean a statement of affairs, agreement of essential expenditure and then allocation of the remainder to pay off debt.

This should mean that you essential bills should be protected, or have you set up something different?
  • I have moved my priority bills to a different bank account as recommended by step change however long story short I have contacted hr, payroll and finance at work and managed (I think) to stop the payment going through and they are going to try and send it to my new one. If not I will receive it abit late but it shouldn't go into my old account. So fingers crossed worst case scenario it will be late but at least in the correct place

Not true in all circumstanses. I've worked for 4 different NHS Trusts andit depends on your bank and when they update their systems. Natwest would show up the day before payday but not be reflected in the Available balance. FirstDirect updates about 2.30am and Nationwide about 5.30am (or vice versa I can't remember!). No matter what bank I've been with or what Trust I've worked for I've NEVER had wages appear at bob on midnight.

Anyway OP, glad you got sorted!! Good news that you staff to help you out.

    xx
