I inherited some land last year and it's apparently stopping me from most benefits

If it's an olive grove with rural zoning (no planning permission) then it IS virtually worthless as it's so abundant.
Get it sold.0 -
Yes it is. I've paid for an international company to value it remotely in English. It is between 3-4k euros.
I've sent off the valuation for them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they will accept it.:)0 -

There is a ready market for extra virgin olive oil produced by artisans in some of the trendy food places in London - get an organic certificate and it could sell for £10 to £15 per litre. Each tree could make you hundreds of pounds. It seems a criminal waste that an olive grove cared for for nearly 100 years by your ancestors is being allowed to overgrow with no care and attention with many thousands of pounds of olives left to rot on the ground. If you aren't caring for it and are only holding onto it for sentimentality and have no intention of making it work for you then sell it to someone who will care and look after it and make a living from it.
I wish it was that easy! You can't just get an organic certificate and the cost of setting up a business would mean I would need to sell it at 150 pounds a bottle to break even with the economy of scale!
It is not being left to be overgrown, I am maintaining it (earlier post I said its costing me money and not making anything).
Trust me if I could make something from it I would as I don't have a job at the moment (not through lack of trying!).0
