Possibility of any fraud markers???

Sold PS4's and mobile phones but in different individual transactions, all different people.
The activity may well have been enough to trigger the account closure itself. As you were obviously using the account for business rather than personal transactions. Irrespective of whether the business activity was legal or not.0 -

There wasn't a lot of stuff, there were only like a PS4 and some iPhone 6's and that was it really. It was also getting used for personal transactions as well as I had my DWP going into that at the time and withdrawing it so it was used for personal transactions and bank transfers are personal but the senders had reporterd to my bank they didn't receive the items and because of receiving several reports they closed my account.
When speaking to them over the phone he said "one report received September 2015 for an iPhone 6 not received but we ignored this and gave benefit of the doubt"
"Report received December 2015 for PS4 not received, this was the 4th or something report so we decided to close your account and not deal with you again.
Something along those lines.
However I will try not to worry yet as I'm not 18 for another 10 months but I will wait to see if anything happens after I turn 18, hopefully not.

AS far as I know, the CRAs don't data-rape people under the age of 18. As soon as you're 18, all the banks IMMEDIATELY report your accounts to the CRAs. I don't know about CIFAS. If they do blacklist under 18s then it really is a shabby state of affairs we have in this country.0

Oh right I see. Does this mean Halifax will also report to the CRA as soon as I turn 18, even though I am nothing to do with them anymore as I'm not their customer anymore?
I'd imagine due to my age they wouldn't have put a CIFAS marker against me, when I asked them on the phone at the time the account was closed they said "you can still open an account with a different bank but you can never bank with us, Lloyds or bank of Scotland in the future as we are all the same banking group.
If they do then this is disgraceful because that will mess me up in the future, for a job, a mortgage, no source of bank for payments being put in, it will mess up my everyday life.
Fingers crossed nothing happens after I turn 18 and they did let me off without one.0 -

What did the letter say which Halifax would have sent you giving you written notice of closure?
Your Halifax account will be listed on your credit file with Experian and Call Credit as a settled account for 6 years.
There should certainly be no issues with CIFAS based on what you've said as there's no confirmed fraud. It just sounds like it was a business decision to no longer offer you banking facilities.
Did the letter say something like "we often review accounts to make sure that we can continue to support our customers with their banking needs. Following a review of your account(s), we have decided that we cannot continue to offer you banking facilities and we will be closing your account(s) on X X 2016."
"If you open other accounts during the notice period, they will also be closed on X X 2016. Please note if you open any other accounts in future, we reserve the right to close them without further notice."
Or did it say "we need to make sure that our accounts are being managed as well as we would expect and are not a potential risk to our business. A recent risk assessment on your account has highlighted concerns and as a result we have taken the decision to close your account in two months time. The two month notice period is set out in our terms and conditions and starts from the date of this letter."0 -

If it's being operated as a business account, e.g.numerous amounts of money going in aswell as your 'dwp' I would be concerned about what hmrc has to say....0

I have thrown the letter away since because I received it in January. The letter said something along the lines of "following a review of a fraudulent transaction on your account, as a commercial decision, we regret to inform you we can no longer offer you banking facilities and you will need to arrange alternative banking arrangements. The accounts will be closed within 60 days of this letter, you can still continue to use the account for 60 days. If you open any accounts with the Halifax banking group, they will also be closed within 60 days." It said something along the lines of this so it slightly matches the first paragraph you done.
Yes I don't think there will be any issues with the CIFAS or anything considering I was 16/17 when the account got closed so I was under 18, as you've said, I just also think it was a business decision to not have me as a customer anymore due to them receiving several complaints about me.
I have not yet heard anything from my current two banks which is good so I think it's all good news but I will need to wait until I am 18 as my banks will be able to see all the information on my credit file at that point so we will have to see but personally I'm not that worried about it as I think it will be alright.0 -

If you are running a business open a business account.
Yes I understand they had about 4 complaints and it's understandable as to why they closed my account because of the several individual complains relating to me but it wasn't confirmed fraud, it was suspicion, their word against mine but Halifax wasn't that good anyway.
It wasn't a business, we just had a few pieces of stuff to sell and that was it, it was personal sales. I don't do it anymore though as I don't want my two other accounts to be closed lol.0 -
Today I closed my NatWest account and withdrawn the £7000 I had in it in cash, the only reason why I have closed my NatWest account is because when the apparent "fraudulent" money was being transferred into my Halifax accounts, I was then transferring it from Halifax to my NatWest accounts and obviously both of those banks are now linked, but Halifax is already closed but today I have voluntarily closed my NatWest account because of the links between both banks regarding the bank transfers.
I've always felt unease anyway with the NatWest account due to the bank transfers from Halifax as its directly linked to Halifax and the "fraudulent" bank transfers/money. I didn't want to close the account as I've been with NatWest nearly 4 years and they've been a great bank to me but I've always felt unease with the NatWest account since the Halifax accounts was closed by them itself.
I still have my Santander account in which I am keeping because that account has not been involved with bank transfers with anyone and I've had it for 8 months and is only used for my DWP and O2 really.
After closing my NatWest account today, I went into Nationwide as I have heard they are a good bank and good customer service, I can get the FlexOne account but the account couldn't be opened today as the account opening person wasn't in today but they took notes of the ID I took in and put it on the system and booked me an appointment for next Wednesday for the account to be opened and then the card/pin sent out in the post.
Once this account is opened, I will have two accounts again but what can I use this second account for? It is always handy to have a second account as I would like at least two bank accounts. The money I withdrawn today, I bought a cash box and have it all in there and it's locked with the key, it's more safer for me I believe, e.g DWP/HMRC. I'm gonna deposit about £1000 in my Santander bank account in cash for if I see something in town one day that I like but the money is at home so would use the card to buy.
Thoughts all?
