                    Hello
My girlfriend is currently in the process of moving in with me. I have been living at the property for 4 months and we have been going through the referencing etc so she can move in.
We were waiting for the letting agency to send through new tenancy agreements (which were due to start today) However they have just contacted me to tell me that as my tenancy is only 2 months from renewal instead they are amending my agreement and adding her as a committed partner. they are sending it through for me to sign tomorrow and have said she does not need to sign anything.
The letting agent was on her mobile in the car so she didn't really stay on the line very long to explain what this actually meant. Would anyone be able to clarify this for me?
many thanks

It means she's a permitted occupier and not a joint tenant. That's fine for the moment. If you don't get on you can ask her to leave with no notice. If she's a joint tenant you can't ask her to leave until the end of the fixed term or you have to end the tenancy by handing in notice and you have to leave too. In 2 months if you're still getting on you can sign a new 6 month tenancy with her name on it too.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. To clarify: you have that rarity - a sensible agent... except for using her phone in the car!0
