Is this a good cat food, the ingredients list is very short. http://m.zooplus.co.uk/shop/pet_supplies_specials/pet_supplies_seasonal/value_cat_wet_food/430259

It's very low in meat content (the ones I looked at on the site were 10% meat and animal by products) I find wet cat food with a higher meat content, whilst more expensive, satisfies appetites better so you may have to feed your cat more wet cat food if it has a low meat content.0

Yes it has low meat content, but it has no sugar, grains, colours or preservatives. I'very tried just about all the other 'good' ones, but my cat won't eat them.0

I ordered a whole range of good quality grain-free foods from Zooplus for my extremely podgy and greedy madam. She turned her nose up at nearly all of them. After spending a clean fortune, I'd almost given up hope of finding one that she liked. Grau was met with a 'ewww, no', Catz Finefoods she tried to bury, Bozita was 'sniff sniff, yuk', Cosma 'not a chance', and GranataPet 'I'll try it, hmm, no'.
Then, bingo, 'this is nice Mommy' ..... she loves Animonda Carny, both the tins and the Kangaroo pouches.
It's a looser texture than some of the other foods and seems moister. If it's warmed gently in the microwave she says it's even better! The neighbour's cat likes it too - and he must be the fussiest cat ever.
It's worth a try if you haven't tried it yet.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -

I get everything for my lot from Zooplus with the exception of flea treatments and worm treatments. My trusty cat litter is also cheaper from my local Home Bargains.
I am a huge fan and advocat(e) for the high protein, grain free, sugar free etc wet and dry cat food of which my lot have tried several. Every morning my lot start their day with fresh and raw pork shoulder and throughout the day I give them fresh and raw chicken drumsticks, chicken thighs and chicken wings. A completely raw food diet would be my first choice however, I don't have the storage space to accommodate it.
For wet food the best ones for my lot are Smilla - I buy the 60 x 400g pack @ £39.99 which contains 20 x beef, 20 x chicken and 20 x fish. I also buy the 12 x 800g pack of Animondo Carny which is on offer at the moment @ £17.99.
For their dry food I buy the saver packs of 2 x 10kg Portia 21 Feline Finest, 2 x 6.5kg Purizon, 2 x 4kg of Arden Grange and 2 x 2kg of Arden Grange Kitten which I mix altogether into 3 x 10kg bags and my lot devour it!! As my lot's ages range from 20 weeks old - 5 years this mix works perfectly for them. I make sure they have plenty of fresh water available to them at all times.
With regards to Catessy, I buy 96 x 100g pouches of Catessy in Jelly and 96 x 100g pouches of Catessy in Egg and Vegetable. Both are on offer at the moment (76 & 20 free - 96 pouches in total) @ £18.99 each. I buy the mega saver pack of 48 x 405g tins of Catessy in Jelly @ £21.99 which contains 4 x Salmon & Trout, 4 x Chicken & Turkey and 4 x Game & Turkey which I mix in with the Catessy pouches, their biscuit mix and hot water from the kettle. I also buy 16 x 100g trays of Catessy Pate which again, I mix with their tins of Smillia, their biscuit mix and a little hot water from the kettle. My lot love the Catessy wet food range...although their meat/protein content isn't nearly as high as Smillia and Animonda Carny is still contains double the meat/protein content of Felix, Whiskas etc and as another poster mentioned the Catessy Pouches (not sure about the Catessy in Sauce as I don't buy it) are grain free, sugar free, colour free etc. Don't be put off by the fact Catessy is advertised as a 'budget' cat food as it really is overall a great cat food at an amazing price.
LIDL Coshida cat food pouches in Jelly (has some yellow on the box) and the ones in Egg & Vegetable (has some orange on the box) 12 x 100g @ £2.49 contain the EXACT same ingredients as Catessy (I am 100% certain the Catessy and Coshida ranges are made by the same German company). You could try one of the Coshida boxes from LIDL and if it is well received order Catessy from Zooplus. My lot also liked LIDL's Coshida Basic cat food pouches in Jelly (all yellow box) 12 x 100g @ £1.75 however, these pouches have a lower protein content and contain grain, sugar etc. LIDL Coshida trays of Pate are great too...100g trays @ 21p each...my lot enjoy the chicken, beef and fish ones but are not so keen on the rabbit (green foil) one. My local LIDL store only display a few boxes of Coshida in Jelly and Coshida in Egg & Vegetable at a time and they are quickly snapped up leaving lots of the Gravy ones which no one seems to buy!!
It has taken me over 6 months to find a diet that suits all my lots age ranges, their taste buds and of course my budget. It's been quite a journey, lots of trial and error with the occasionally stupid high spends on 'highly rated' foods such as Origen, Encore Dry and Applaws - none of which my lot liked!! As the wet food range from Encore is merely a 'complimentary' cat food however, it was a great food for each of my lot after they were neutered/spayed.
Myself and my lot fully recommend the Catessy Wet Food Pouches range in Jelly and also the ones in Egg & Vegetable. Their tinned range in Jelly and their pate range have our seal of approval too!! They were not too fussed on the Catessy pouches and tins in Sauce/Gravy and they certainly did not like of the Catessy dry foods whatsoever. The Catessy cat sticks treats are fab too....again grain and sugar free.
I usually order from Zooplus on Monday's and my delivery is here usually on Thursday's and I always opt for DPD delivery service as DPD email you direct the night before informing you of their intention to deliver the next day and on the morning of your delivery they send you an updated email with your 1 hour delivery time slot. Plus it saves me the hassle of shopping, loading and carrying huge and heavy volumes of cat food and accessories.
I joined the 3 year (a 1 year option was also avail) Zooplus saver scheme - this came as a 'pop up' when I was shopping on their site...cost for the 3 years was a one off payment of £9.95 (which I recouped back with the discount given on that order alone). This gives me 7% off every Zooplus order and for every £ spend gives me 1 reward point too. Zooplus often email me with time limited offers of double or triple bonus points on a selection of products and occasionally on your whole order. The rewards shop is great with a good choice of cats foods, toys and accessories. Zooplus's range of cat towers, cat trees, cat dens, cat beds, scratching furniture and cat toys are brilliant too...they are reasonably priced and the quality is superb. Zooplus's customer service department is for me getting better and are more accommodating than previouslyAn additional bonus for me is along with my 7% discount purchasing via Quidco gives me 4% cash back too and Zooplus always pay promptly!! As Zooplus only limits one voucher code per order it is not possible to 'stack' vouchers codes.
I have tried many, many other online retailers for cat food and despite Zooplus selling the same products cheaper, the retailers offering free next day delivery and at times, trying to make use of my Prime membership were the ones I usually opted for. However, with my 7% discount and 4% Quidco along with their huge range of grain free cat food and reward scheme personally for me Zooplus is the only online retailer I now use for all my cat foods and accessories as I actually get something back from them via Quidco.
Hopefully, my post gives some help and advice to someone who is maybe starting on their 'cat food mission'. I would have greatly appreciated some pointers and tips when I started my own one over 6 months ago
Now.....my next 'mission' is to find out the reason why dog food offered by some of the companies I use is much more cheaper than cat food!??!!
Whoever thought buying cat food was so complicated:D. I have had cats for 60 years and when we were little you bought a tin of Kitekat (oh the fishy smell) and that was it. I am looking to upgrade Squeaky's cat food as she is getting on a bit now. I got a sample of Eukanuba from a recent cat show and it doesn't touch the sides. I have looked at Zooplus but the range of foods is overwhelming sobyournpost helped, thanks.0
