Blimey if I had known my post were going to be picked apart and dissected I wouldn't of shared my experience! I think you are trying to help the original poster but if honest you come across as condescending know it alls. My debt will be gone in August, not proud of getting into that mess but I've dealt with it and it's nearly over. So what if I payed them a percentage of what I got, you know nothing about my life, it was my choice and really it has nothing to do with you. You clearly think I was wrong and that's fine but why all the !!!!!y remarks? You have close to 100,000 posts between you so this must be a hobby or perhaps how you spend every minute of everyday! Either way I won't judge unlike you.
Anyway I'm off out to get some fresh air, step away from the electronic device and try it someday, don't worry it's free and won't cost you a penny or sit on here and continue to be rude whilst racking up another 100,0000 posts

Would you perhaps have paid the debt off already if the money you paid to Stake Your Claim had instead gone to your creditors?

The reality is that, if you have a complaint about PPI, all you have to do is ring 0800 023 4567. The Financial Ombudsman Service will then take details and, if necessary, write to the business and complain for you. You will not even pay for the call let alone for the service.

I would like to but like most of us on here I suspect, I have a job that pays my bills and can't just walk out of the office as I need to be here to work, so posting on a break is about the best I can do. Good for you that you that your full time job lets you leave at 1pm or wander off when you feel like it

Your post is being attacked because you are promoting a claims firm which is a big MSE no-no. As I have stated 3 times now, you got very lucky that you got the PPI into your account - this board is littered with examples of people who were in debt and complained about PPI through a firm and had the money used against the debt and then got a bill from the CMC for a % cut of the "refund" even though the person never saw a penny as the money was offset against the debt leaving them in more debt worsening their problems - nobody should use a CMC but especially not people in debt

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

its not being picked apart for any reason other than to help others to avoid making the same mistake you made.
So what if I payed them a percentage of what I got, you know nothing about my life, it was my choice and really it has nothing to do with you.

The minute you post details on a discussion site, it is open for discussion.

You won't judge... but you just did.

Sounds like you have buyer remorse and you are trying to justify it. Mostly to yourself as you can see no-one else agrees with you.
